I am so excited to introduce you to my dear friend & colleague, Elizabeth McElroy, MSW, LCSW. I was lucky enough to have her as the social worker assigned to my patients while I worked as a hospice case manager. Not only did I find a lifelong friend, confidant, and fellow hilarious human, but I also learned to appreciate the role social workers play in healthcare and watching her practice deepened my own nursing practice. I learned how to ask really good questions AND most importantly how to be a better listener.
March is Social Work Month so it only felt like a good time to celebrate all of the amazing social workers out there!
